Maybe Maiden?

Maybe Maiden?

A few weeks ago we delved into our Duchess range to give you all a little history and a little reason behind our larger sized bangles. This time, it's the turn of our daintier Maiden bangles for those smaller wristed among us.

It was the dawn of 2016 and we were thinking about different sizes, both smaller and larger. It was only fair that you smashing gang were also included in our Splendette loveliness. Just like with Duchess, the thinking cap was firmly on and the wine was in hand.

It's true that a lot of 1940s and 1950s vintage bangles are smaller in size but, although luxurious one offs, they can come with a hefty price tag. This is why Maiden sizes are so important! This way those who have always suffered with bangle-slippage (it's a true affliction definitely written about in medical journals) can build their Splendette stacks in the firm knowledge that they'll be no bangles left behind. We never leave a bangle behind.

Just in case you are unfamiliar with our Maiden vintage inspired fakelite bangles, they are just a smidge smaller than our Regular bangle range, and measure at 5.8cm in diameter. This is 0.7cm smaller than Regular, but every millimetre counts when it comes to bangle sizing.

Obviously, Maidens are great as a whole stack if you are slimmer wristed folk, but a great tip we love to share is they work fabulously as a stopper. Let's say you are inbetween sizes, not quite a Regular and not quite a Maiden. You can buy stacks of Regular bangles and then a handful of Maidens which go at the bottom of your stack, closest to your hand, and this will stop the others falling down.

We love that you love Maidens so much, and always try and design our fakelite bangles so that you 1940s and 1950s lovers can have access to our collections. going forward, we will try our hardest to get all the big ranges out in Maiden size as well. They will be in small batches to balance the supply and demand, but they will be there!

Not sure on what size is perfect for you? We have a handy bangle size guide which should help you decide.
